Shevock Earns Regent Award

Bayhealth Cancer Institute Executive Director and Senior Director of Operations, Oncology Service Line John D. Shevock, FACHE, FACMPE, was presented with the 2023 Senior Level Healthcare Executive Regent Award. Bayhealth wishes to congratulate Shevock on the accomplishment.
To earn the award, nominees must demonstrate innovative and creative management, participate in local, state or provincial hospital and health association activities, and contribute to the development of others in the healthcare profession.
Shevock, who has been with Bayhealth for over 19 years, credits his team with growing and developing the Oncology Service Line from a community cancer program to a full comprehensive program for cancer patients.
“We’re excited to take our program to the next level as we develop a larger academic profile,” he said. “It’s an honor working with the entire multidisciplinary team.”
Bayhealth President & CEO Terry Murphy, FACHE, said Shevock’s dedication to his team has allowed them to grow professionally and individually.
“A strong leader knows that teams will rise to any challenge when they feel like they are being taken care of,” he said. “We are proud to have a leader like John Shevock at Bayhealth and look forward to the great things he will accomplish in the future.”
Shevock said it’s important to help others develop in their profession and to share knowledge in order to foster personal connections.
“The best feedback I received throughout my career has been to listen rather than tell,” he said. “Our industry is very team oriented and not one individual can do everything. We must show humility and know when to reach out for help.”
