Bayhealth proudly welcomed 50 student-athletes and staff from University of Delaware (UD) Athletics on Friday, June 13, as part of their third annual 302 Tour—UD Athletics statewide initiative aimed at raising awareness of the university and building meaningful community connections.

The visit marks a key milestone in the growing collaboration between Bayhealth and University of Delaware, centered on health education, leadership development and expanding community outreach efforts. As the only healthcare-related stop on the tour, Bayhealth had the opportunity to uniquely showcase its state-of-the-art PCOM Simulation Center and highlight the organization's broader commitment to education, innovation and community wellness.

"We were honored to welcome these bright college students to our simulation lab at Bayhealth Kent Campus," said Vice President of Marketing, Communications & Community Outreach Amanda Bowie, MSM. "Giving students a hands-on look at healthcare in action is an important part of sparking interest in meaningful careers. We hope this experience inspires them to see the many ways they can make a real difference in the health and well-being of our community."

During their two-hour visit, participants toured the high-tech Simulation Center, engaged in CPR races and took part in the interactive “Friday Night at the ER” game—experiencing firsthand how clinical teams respond to real-world scenarios in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

“It was great being able to make a stop at Bayhealth on our third-annual 302 Tour. We are focused on making meaningful connections and engaging with the entire 302 community, and this stop achieved exactly that,” said Interim Director of Athletics, Community & Campus Recreation Jordan Skolnick. “Being able to see the incredible things Bayhealth is doing provided a great opportunity to educate our student-athletes about potential careers in the medical industry. Thanks to Terry Murphy and the entire team at Bayhealth for making this a great experience!”

The 302 Tour provides student-athletes with an opportunity to explore all that Delaware has to offer while engaging with organizations that are making a positive impact across the state. The collaboration between Bayhealth and University of Delaware Athletics strengthens both organizations efforts to prepare the next generation for success—on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
