Bayhealth Executive Vice President Chief Operating Officer (COO) Kyle Benoit, MHA, FACHE, shared exciting updates about the health system’s growth and future plans at the Georgetown Chamber Economic Development Luncheon, hosted on August 6 at the Georgetown Library. Invited by the Bayhealth Foundation, Benoit addressed community leaders and business owners about Bayhealth’s continued investment in expanding services and facilities to central and southern Delaware’s healthcare needs.

During the luncheon, Benoit reflected on the recent six-year anniversary of the Bayhealth Hospital, Sussex Campus and highlighted key milestones, including the expansion of inpatient beds from 128 to 157 and the addition of five labor and delivery beds. He also highlighted the opening of PAM Health Rehabilitation’s new standalone hospital on the Bayhealth, Sussex Campus in October of 2024.

The COO also provided an overview of Bayhealth Total Care, a service-led patient care experience that offers the convenience of urgent care and the medical equipment and expertise of the emergency room. Bayhealth Total Care in Milton has recently rolled out additional services including lab, imaging and patient care offices.

Looking ahead, Benoit unveiled several major projects starting soon at the Bayhealth, Sussex Campus, including a new Bayhealth Childcare Center for team members, a new medical office building for expanding services and a new Interventional Suite with four interventional labs and 16 pre/post patient care bays. These spaces will allow us to provide more minimally invasive procedures such as:

  • Radiology
  • Interventional Neurology
  • Electrophysiology
  • Cardiac Catheterization

“Bayhealth is proud to be a driving force in both healthcare excellence and economic growth in our community,” said Benoit. “These projects are not only investments in our facilities, but in the health, well-being, and future of the people we serve.”

The Georgetown Economic Development Luncheon brings together leaders from across central and southern Delaware to discuss growth, innovation and opportunities that strengthen the local economy.
