Bayhealth’s Resuscitation teams at both the Kent and Sussex campuses recently received multiple Get With The Guidelines®–Resuscitation awards from the American Heart Association (AHA) for its commitment to following evidence-based guidelines to improve patient outcomes.
The awards recognize hospitals that consistently apply the latest research-based resuscitation treatments to help patients who suffer cardiac arrest while in the hospital.
“This achievement reflects the dedication of our clinical teams to providing the highest standard of care in critical moments,” said Cardiac Clinical Nurse Specialist Dennise Washington, MSN, RN, APRN, ACNS-BC, CCRN. “Following the AHA’s proven guidelines means we are giving our patients the best possible chance for survival and recovery.”
The AHA’s Get With The Guidelines–Resuscitation program is designed to help hospital teams consistently treat cardiac arrest patients with timely, evidence-based interventions. Participating hospitals receive ongoing education, data analysis and resources to drive quality improvements.
“Bayhealth’s recognition is a testament to its focus on using science-backed protocols to enhance patient care,” said Cynthia Keely, AHA program consultant, Health Care Quality. “Hospitals that follow these guidelines help ensure patients receive the right care at the right time.”
