Bayhealth Medical Group Welcomes Dr. David Parrella, Neurointerventional Surgeon

Bayhealth Medical Group is pleased to welcome David Parrella, MD, a board-certified neurologist and fellowship-trained neurointerventional surgeon, to its growing neurosciences team. Dr. Parrella specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of acute ischemic stroke, cerebral aneurysms and complex cerebrovascular disease, using advanced, minimially invasive techniques to improve patient outcomes and recovery.

Dr. Parrella brings more than a decade of experience treating some of the most complex neurovascular conditions and has played a key role in building and expanding comprehensive stroke programs in both academic and community hospital settings.

Dr. Parrella earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University before completing medical school at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He completed his neurology residency at Monefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in vascular neurology at the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute at JFK Medical Center. He then completed advanced fellowship training in endovascular neurosurgery at St. Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto.

He is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and holds CAST certification in neuroendovascular surgery, along with recognition for focused practice in CN endovascular surgery. Throughout his career, Dr. Parrella has served as a site principal investigator for multiple international stroke trials and has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications advancing the field of stroke and neurointerventional care.
