Infant Care

Prepare for your baby's arrival with Bayhealth's Infant Care Class, designed to help expectant parents feel confident and prepared for caring for a newborn. Taught by experienced postpartum nurses, this comprehensive class covers essential newborn care topics, including bathing, diapering, skin care, safe sleep practices, infant safety, newborn characteristics, soothing a crying baby and more.

The class includes hands-on demonstrations and opportunities to practice infant care skills in a supportive environment. During the first 30 minutes, a certified car seat safety expert will provide guidance on proper car seat installation and safe infant transportation. Please bring your infant car seat to class for personalized instruction.

The class concludes with a tour of Bayhealth's Labor and Delivery Unit, giving families an opportunity to become familiar with the birthing environment before delivery.

This class is free, but registration is required. Participants may bring one support person.
