Bayhealth & Free Bikes 4 Kidz

Bayhealth is partnering with Free Bikes 4 Kidz (FB4K), a nonprofit organization geared toward helping all kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing donated bikes to those most in need.

As we all know, developing healthy movement habits early is so important. Regular physical activity can help children build strong bones, improve cardio fitness, reduce the symptoms of anxiety and depression, and much more.

While the simple thrill of riding a bike is one that often motivates kids to move, many kids don't have a bike to ride.

We're bringing community members and resources together to distribute wheels and helmets to kids in need identified by local charities. This collaboration gives more than just a bike—we're providing a healthier future for children as we carry out our Bayhealth mission—to strengthen the health of our community, one life at a time.

Volunteers Needed

To kick off the partnership, Bayhealth will be giving away nearly 300 new bikes.

But before we can give them away, they need to be assembled. This is where you come in...

We're hosting a volunteer assembly event on Jan. 16, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service (MLK Day), at the Blue Hen Corporate Center in Dover. No specific skills are needed, but if you do have bike assembly experience—even better!

The event will be held 12-6 p.m. Food and drinks will be provided. Please join us in volunteering for a time frame that suits you. Click the button below to sign up.

Please contact Bayhealth Chief Wellness Officer Dr. Tom Vaughan at Thomas_Vaughan@Bayhealth.org if you're interested in sponsoring or volunteering for this partnership.
