About

Ejaz Mahmood, MD, specializes in the evaluation and treatment of disorders of the endocrine system, made up of hormone-producing glands.

Dr. Mahmood went into medicine because he considers it the highest privilege to be trusted in caring for a person’s health and wellbeing. During his medical training in the United Kingdom, he particularly valued the responsibility that came with caring for those with chronic conditions—understanding the disease process and helping to provide long-term management of those conditions in order to improve their quality of life.

While a resident physician at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, he received the Darilyn Moyer Professionalism Award from the American College of Physicians. He also earned the Dimitri Stabropoulos Memorial Award in recognition of clinical acumen, compassion, empathy, and passion for the preservation of life.

Dr. Mahmood provides care for those who suffer from a range of hormonal issues, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, and adrenal disorders, among others. He believes that careful listening to patients’ concerns, ideas and expectations and shared decision-making are key components in helping them achieve better health. While empowering his patients to understand what’s happening in their bodies and participate in treatment plans, he provides ongoing expertise and compassionate care to help them reach their healthcare goals.

In his free time, Dr. Mahmood loves playing and watching soccer and is a huge Liverpool fan.
