About

Kimberly K. Holmes, MSN, APRN, ACNS-BC, PCCN-K, is a clinical nurse specialist and the primary stroke program coordinator for Bayhealth Kent and Sussex Campuses.

From a young age, Kimberly has always wanted to be a nurse. Caring for others and ensuring that optimal care is delivered to all patients is what drives her in her daily work.

Kimberly was born and raised in Delaware. After she earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Delaware State University, she went on to complete a post-master’s certification at University of Delaware to become a clinical nurse specialist. She is board certified in adult progressive care nursing and has worked in a variety of areas, including intermediate care, outpatient day surgery, and interventional cardiology.

Through her work at Bayhealth and her extensive volunteerism and leadership roles, Kimberly takes pride in facilitating positive change in healthcare on a system, state and national level. As stroke program coordinator, she ensures that patients who suffer a stroke can rely on timely and dedicated care at Bayhealth. She is an avid volunteer and national committee member for the American Heart/Stroke Association as well as community events supporting cardiovascular/stroke awareness, prevention and wellness. She currently serves as board president of the Delaware Heart/Stroke Association and is the inaugural chair of the Delaware Stroke System Committee, leading collaborative efforts that advance stroke care, strengthen heart health, and result in better health outcomes across our state.

Kimberly is particularly passionate about efforts to reduce health disparities affecting women and minorities. She has been a speaker on stroke care and cultural sensitivity at state and national events.
