Matthew Reetz, DO, is a board-certified family medicine physician.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Dr. Reetz grew up with an interest in science and health. It wasn’t until his grandmother became ill that his thoughts turned to becoming a doctor. He wanted to stay informed about her diagnosis and how she could get better, but he couldn’t understand all the medical jargon and felt like an outsider. He was determined to become a physician who could not only use his knowledge to treat patients, but provide clear and caring communication to help people and their family members understand their condition and feel a part of the healing process.
Dr. Reetz aims to be a partner to his patients in their health journeys. He considers every patient visit an opportunity to build a genuine and lasting connection with someone and meet them where they are in life--whether they’ve been going to the doctor regularly, experienced a health crisis recently, or have put their health on the back burner—and help enhance their wellbeing. He takes time to listen and understand each person’s background and health history so he can offer guidance and recommendations that will meet their individual needs and lifestyle.
Among the full range of primary care he provides to patients of all ages, Dr. Reetz also has a clinical interest in performing office-based procedures such as injections and skin biopsies.
Most of Dr. Reetz’s spare time is devoted to family—his wife and five children. They like to travel together and are big Disney fans. He also has a love for all of Wisconsin’s sports teams.
