Pedro J. Perez, MD

Pedro Perez, MD, is a cardiologist who treats patients with heart and vascular conditions.

Early in life, Dr. Perez knew he had a desire to become a doctor. With his father being a physician and his mother being a chemical engineer, he knew he wanted to go into a field fairly similar to that of his parents.

While training to become a cardiologist at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, Dr. Perez would often visit his friends in Delaware and enjoy the beach. Delaware seemed like a nice family area so it soon become home to him.

Dr. Perez is a cardiologist with heart – he is driven by his love for humanity and helping others. Having a career that allows him to give back to his community and society in general, is incredibly fulfilling to him. He’s been practicing medicine for over 30 years. To him, it’s never about money nor time, it’s about helping people and seeing his patients succeed in their wellness journey.

The most important aspect of the care that Dr. Perez provides is establishing a trusting relationship with the patient. He tends to look at symptoms from the patient’s perspective as if he were the one in pain. He does this to develop a true understanding of where each person is coming from and to allow them to feel seen and heard.

During his free time, Dr. Perez enjoys sailing. While he says it is hard work pulling lines, working with sails, attending to the weather and the tides, it gives him moments of freedom, peace and closeness to nature and God.
