Amita Jain, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine doctor who sees patients ages 18 and older.
Having grown up in a small town in India where good medical care was lacking, Dr. Jain saw first-hand the implications of unmet healthcare needs on patients, their loved ones and the community as a whole, and the impact that a good physician can have. This served as an early inspiration for her to pursue a career in medicine.
In her practice, Dr. Jain takes the time to build strong physician-patient relationships and provides thorough and empathetic care with a strong emphasis on prevention. She prioritizes the healthcare goals of each patient and works with them to best achieve them, by listening to their concerns and empowering them to make lifestyle modifications, or helping them make evidence-based, informed decisions to optimize their health.
Outside of work, Dr. Jain is an avid yoga practitioner. She also enjoys cooking and spending time with her family, including her husband—also a Bayhealth physician—and their young son.
