NBCF Grants $10,000 to Support Breast Screenings at Bayhealth

Tuesday, August 1, 2023 | Bayhealth Foundation, Cancer Care
The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) has once again demonstrated its commitment to the health and well-being of the community by granting $10,000 to Bayhealth. This generous grant will be used to support Bayhealth's breast screening program, ensuring that more individuals have access to lifesaving screenings.

Over the past 15 years, the NBCF has been a steadfast supporter of Bayhealth. This ongoing support has played a crucial role in enabling Bayhealth to provide essential breast screenings to traditionally underserved or underinsured individuals in our community.

Breast cancer remains one of the most prevalent forms of cancer affecting women worldwide. Early detection through regular screenings is vital in improving survival rates and ensuring timely treatment. By investing in Bayhealth's breast screening program, the NBCF is actively contributing to the fight against breast cancer and promoting the importance of early detection.

Bayhealth Cancer Institute Manager Stephanie McClellan, MBA, MSN, RN, CMSRN, NE-BC, expressed her gratitude for the NBCF's continuous generosity.

"The generous support from the National Breast Cancer Foundation allows us to extend our reach and provide breast cancer screening services to even more individuals. This grant will undoubtedly make a difference in the lives of those we serve."

As a member of the Penn Cancer Network, Bayhealth is the only cancer program in Delaware affiliated with a National Cancer Institute–designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Our patients and cancer care team have ongoing access to new technologies, leading-edge treatments and clinical trials, as well as the expert opinions from physicians at Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center.
