Bayhealth proudly announces the success of its 40th Spring Golf Tournament, held on Friday, May 23 at Maple Dale Country Club in Dover, Delaware. The annual event raised more than $76,000 in support of the Bayhealth Heart & Vascular Institute.

The evening before the tournament, sponsors and golfers attended a reception to learn about the Bayhealth Heart & Vascular Institute. During a panel discussion, Jennifer Eakin, DO and Douglas Allen Peterson, a grateful patient, shared the Heart & Vascular Institute’s life-saving impact as Peterson shared his story of the care he received after a heart attack.

More than 120 golfers, sponsors and community members gathered for a day of friendly competition and philanthropy, all to support cardiovascular care for patients in central and southern Delaware. Proceeds from the event will directly support new Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Lab equipment at both Bayhealth Kent and Sussex campuses; expansion of non-invasive cardiac testing; and a medical office building that will be home to specialty clinics, non-invasive testing and offices for our clinicians all under one roof conveniently located for everyone we care for.

“This year’s tournament exceeded all expectations, both in turnout and generosity,” said Bayhealth Foundation President Lindsay Rhodenbaugh, DMin. “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, sponsored and helped make this event possible. The funds raised will make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients with heart-related conditions.”

The tournament featured raffles, on-course contests and a post-round awards reception.

“We’re proud to be part of a community that rallies behind a cause as vital as heart health,” said Bayhealth Heart & Vascular Institute Senior Director Ben Collins, MBA, BSN. “This support allows us to continue being at the forefront of medical advancements, with a focus on delivering innovative care.”
