Bayhealth Foundation Hosts Community Presentations Highlighting Expansion Plans

Bayhealth Foundation brought community members together over the past few months for two presentations highlighting Bayhealth's long-term vision for expanding access to high-quality care across central and southern Delaware.

The presentations provided updates on Bayhealth's strategic growth initiatives while giving community leaders, donors and partners the opportunity to learn more about Bayhealth's ongoing investments and the role philanthropy plays in advancing healthcare throughout the region.

On April 22, Bayhealth President and Chief Executive Officer Terry Murphy, MHSA, FACHE, presented at Rehoboth Beach Country Club to an audience of club members, current and prospective donors, and representatives from current and potential funding organizations. Murphy shared an overview of Bayhealth's long-term vision and The Next Wave capital expansion projects, with a focus on how these investments will improve access to care, enhance quality and strengthen health outcomes for residents of Sussex County.

The presentation also highlighted the importance of community engagement and encouraged attendees to serve as ambassadors by sharing Bayhealth's vision and the lasting impact these projects will have across Sussex County.

On May 19, Senior Director of the Bayhealth Heart and Vascular Institute Ben Collins, MBA, BSN, presented to members of the Milford Chamber of Commerce. Collins highlighted the Heart and Vascular Institute's continued growth, including updates on advanced procedures, national recognitions and future expansion plans.

The presentation recognized Bayhealth's designation as a 2026 National Distinction of Excellence HeartCARE Center and outlined several projects that are part of The Next Wave expansion campaign. Planned investments include renovations to the cardiac catheterization laboratories at Bayhealth Kent Campus, a new Heart and Vascular Institute building on the Bayhealth Sussex Campus anticipated to open in fall 2027 and an expanded cardiac catheterization laboratory at the Sussex Campus planned for spring 2028.
