Bayhealth Foundation Golf Tournament Raises 90K+ for Nurse Education
Bayhealth Foundation recently brought the community together to honor nurses and advance nursing education through a special reception and its annual Fall Golf Tournament. Together, these events raised more than $90,000 to support Bayhealth’s mission of fostering nursing excellence.
The reception, held Sept. 18 at Big Oyster in Milford, welcomed sponsors and tournament players. Senior Vice President & Chief Nurse Executive Rosemary Wurster, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE, emphasized the vital role of nurses in delivering compassionate, high-quality care. Nurses in various organizational roles shared how Bayhealth supports their clinical expertise, professional growth, education and leadership opportunities.
Wurster also shared a powerful video depicting a real-life emergency in which Bayhealth nurses responded with speed, skill and compassion to save the life of a child from a life-threatening emergency, emphasizing the impact of nursing excellence during critical moments.
“What distinguishes Bayhealth nurses is not only their skill and dedication, but also the autonomy and accountability they demonstrate every day,” said Wurster. “Through shared governance councils, committees and task forces, our nurses actively shape practice and patient care. Their work impacts both today’s patients and the community for years to come.”
The Fall Golf Tournament, held Sept. 19 at Southern Delaware Golf Club, brought together generous supporters that raised funds for nursing education, professional development and programs that empower nurses to provide exceptional care.
“We are incredibly grateful to our community, donors and all participants who contributed to a meaningful cause,” said Bayhealth Foundation President Lindsay Rhodenbaugh, DMin. “The funds raised will have a lasting impact by supporting the nurses who are at the forefront of caring for our families, friends and neighbors."
