Bayhealth Celebrates Second Graduating Class of Internal Medicine Residency Program
Bayhealth proudly celebrated a significant milestone with the graduation of the second class of its Internal Medicine Residency Program. The ceremony, held on Friday, May 30 at the Bayhealth Conference Center at Blue Hen, honored the hard work, dedication and achievements of 13 resident clinicians who have successfully completed the three-year training program.
“As our second class of Internal Medicine residents graduate, I am incredibly proud of each of their accomplishments, and I know they are going to be making a huge difference in our community and others,” said Bayhealth Internal Medicine Residency Program Director Joseph Deutsch, MD. “I am truly honored to have trained them for the past three years, and I am excited to see them take this next step in their careers.”
Launched in 2021, Bayhealth’s Internal Medicine Residency Program offers high-quality, hands-on training across hospital medicine, ambulatory care, and subspecialities like cardiology, endocrinology and infectious disease. It has earned recognition for its dedication to high-quality care, teamwork and serving the needs of a diverse community.
This year’s graduates will pursue fellowships in rheumatology, palliative care, infectious disease and hematology-oncology, while others will begin hospitalist roles across various health systems, including Bayhealth.
Residents were joined by team members, medical staff, families and mentors for a celebratory evening that included dinner, diploma presentations and awards.
As the program continues to grow, Bayhealth remains committed to shaping the future of medicine by investing in education, research and developing medical talent.
