Erica Engstenberg

A Good Steward for Bayhealth

Wednesday, June 21, 2023 | Bayhealth Foundation
Being a good steward of Bayhealth’s not-for-profit dollars is part of Erica Engstenberg’s, CAPM, everyday role. As a strategic sourcing analyst in Resource Management, she identifies ways for Bayhealth to save money while also contributing her personal funds to support the Bayhealth Foundation.

“Each of us has an opportunity to contribute and support one another and our community,” said Engstenberg.

Her main responsibilities include identifying opportunities and maximizing Bayhealth’s group purchasing affiliations and supplier performance. She also implements programs or initiatives that return major cost savings for the health system. While she reduces costs for Bayhealth in certain areas, those funds can be reallocated to benefit areas that need it most.

She says it takes teamwork and people paying attention to details to identify cost savings that benefit everyone. “At the end of the day, it’s great to see how our teams support one another,” said Engstenberg. “When we support one another, it truly makes a difference.”

Not only does Engstenberg see the significance in stewarding current funds well, but also adding to them. Since 2015, she’s contributed toward the Employee Assistance Fund or future projects. And she does so because she knows it’s improving the health and wellbeing of her community and the families we serve.

“When Bayhealth team members give to the Bayhealth Foundation, they’re promoting better health for everyone,” said Bayhealth Foundation President Lindsay A. Rhodenbaugh, DMin. “For employees like Erica, giving back to the organization where they work helps create a deeper connection to our mission. If you’d like to learn about giving opportunities, we’re happy to talk with you personally.”
