Growing up in a family of doctors, Dr. Rather felt it was his life’s calling to enter the medical field. Years of practicing surgery has helped him develop a holistic approach for treating patients.
As a colorectal surgeon, Dr. Rather specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of conditions that affect the lower digestive tract. He helps patients take preventative measures with a number of screening and diagnostic tests, including ultrasounds and colonoscopies.
Dr. Rather views patients as more than signs and symptoms. He believes in the importance of a good professional and interpersonal relationship in order to establish and maintain trust.
Dr. Rather partakes in community awareness programs on colorectal cancer and participates in Relay for Life.
