As greater numbers of individuals struggle with managing cancer, heart failure, pulmonary disease, and countless other conditions, Bayhealth has expanded its services in palliative care, a specialized area of medicine focused on helping patients live better with their long-term illnesses. Palliative Care Physician Matthew Debo, DO, MS, is the newest addition to the Bayhealth Palliative Care practice in Dover and is accepting new patients.

Bayhealth Palliative Care offers ongoing inpatient and outpatient care to support those with either serious or chronic illnesses and their families. Dr. Debo joins Bayhealth Advanced Practice Clinicians Theresa Latorre-Tegtmeier, NP-C; Suzette Flores, NP-C; Robin Maracle, AGCNS-BC; and Loretta A. Higgins, GNP-BC, in the practice. The practice is part of the Bayhealth Medical Group, a partnership of highly trained physicians, their clinical staff, and an administrative support team that operates medical practices throughout central and southern Delaware.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Debo,” said Bayhealth Vice President, Physician Services and Clinical Integration Lawrence Ward, MD, MPH, FACP. “He will be an asset to our community by providing medical expertise and compassionate care to those living with very serious and chronic illnesses and will help improve quality of life for patients and their families.”

A graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Debo earned a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
