Central, Southern Delaware’s Largest Health System Adapts Staffing Model to Meet Today’s Healthcare Worker Needs

Amid nationwide healthcare staffing challenges, Bayhealth has announced its plan to support healthcare workers who need their workdays free. Bayhealth’s innovative new Part-time Weekend Program will create more flexibility for healthcare workers who need more time to care for their families, while offering them the security of benefits often only afforded to full-time workers. The new program will help retain valuable staff and could boost Bayhealth’s current workforce by about 13 percent.
“This program is essential to our continued growth and commitment to strengthening the health of our communities,” said Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer Shana Ross. “At Bayhealth we get it. We understand these are tough times for working parents and alike, especially healthcare workers who have no choice when it comes to their calling to take care of our communities. We want them to know we are there for them. We are proud to offer flexible scheduling, including part-time clinical weekend positions coupled with the security of generous benefits packages and competitive incentives.”
For qualified applicants, Bayhealth is offering part-time weekend positions with benefits, including paid time off, sick time, medical coverage, a 401(k)-retirement plan and more. For applicable part-time positions, the health system is also offering relocation assistance. Open positions include nursing (LPNs and RNs), respiratory therapy, lab, radiology and diagnostic imaging.

All qualified applicants will be entered to win a three-day, all-expense-paid trip for two to Nassau, Bahamas (includes round-trip car service to and from Philadelphia International Airport, airfare and two nights luxury accommodations). Winners will be announced on February 11, 2022.
