Bayhealth Cancer Patients Receive Care Items Thanks to Local Business and Charity

Friday, July 8, 2022 | Cancer Care, Community Outreach
Bayhealth Cancer Center patients are benefitting from the continued generosity of Winner Subaru in Dover and the Delaware Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Customers at the local dealership participated in the Subaru Loves to Care Initiative by sharing messages of hope for cancer patients. For every vehicle purchased, the dealership donated blankets and other care items to Bayhealth Cancer Center. These were delivered June 28 to the Medical Oncology department at Bayhealth Kent Campus.

“We are so honored to partner with our local Subaru dealerships to support Delaware patients battling cancer,” said Jennifer Connolly, campaign development manager for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware Region. “We look forward to this event at Bayhealth each year to share the encouraging messages and comfort items provided through the Subaru Loves to Care initiative with local patients courageously fighting cancer.”

Bayhealth Senior Director of Operations, Oncology Service Line and Executive Director of the Bayhealth Cancer Institute John Shevock, FACHE, FACMPE, said they are grateful for the ongoing support of Winner Subaru and the Delaware Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. “The thoughtfulness and generosity expressed through the messages and donated items makes a meaningful difference to our patients,” said Shevock. “During the cancer treatment journey, it’s very impactful for patients to know they are supported by their community.”
