Bayhealth Served 63 Local Athletes at Free Sports Physicals Event
The Bayhealth Family Medicine Residency Program and Bayhealth Medical Group (BMG) continued their tradition of providing free sports physicals to student-athletes in the community. Held at Bayhealth Family Medicine, Dover on Saturday, July 26, the event helped local athletes prepare for the upcoming season by ensuring they meet league health requirements.
An impressive 63 athletes received physicals from Bayhealth’s team of Family Medicine Residents—making it another impactful day for community health and access.
This returning event underscores Bayhealth’s commitment to supporting local families, expanding access to preventive care and strengthening the health of Kent and Sussex Counties. It also serves as an opportunity to highlight the work of Bayhealth’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program and its long-term benefits to the region.
Resident Physician and event lead Aditya Brahmbhatt, MD, said he and his colleagues were honored to offer this service. “We want to help these student-athletes start their season off healthy and give them the tools to stay strong throughout,” he said. “Sports physicals are a simple but powerful way to protect young athletes and promote lifelong wellness.”
Vice President of Bayhealth Medical Group Physician Services Dina Perry, MBA, praised the collaboration and the gratitude shown by families. “It’s powerful when people across Bayhealth come together for our community,” she said. “The feedback from families is always heartfelt, and I’m proud of our team for making this event such a success once again.”
