Bayhealth’s Festival of Trees Raises Over $11,000
Each year Bayhealth holds a Festival of Trees at its hospitals in Dover and Milford, Delaware. The Festival of Trees serves as the centerpiece for the holidays at Bayhealth and is an amazing fundraising event. The 2022 festival raised $11,100.
The funds are raised through the sale of tickets to enter a raffle to win a tree or wreath — which traditionally are decorated with themes or other great creativity by various teams and departments across Bayhealth. All proceeds raised support the Employee Assistance Fund, which helps employees who encounter a crisis or face other unexpected financial challenges.
The trees and wreaths are decorated the week of Thanksgiving, ticket sales begin the day after Thanksgiving and the raffle takes place just before Christmas. This year a total of 117 trees and 15 wreaths were decorated and raffled off at the Bayhealth Hospital, Kent and Sussex Campuses.
“The camaraderie this festival brings is wonderful for all Bayhealth employees as well as the community,” said Bayhealth’s Lead Patient Advocate Jane Hewitt, who helps organize the Festival of Trees each year. “A huge thank you to Plant Operations and the Community Pharmacy staff for all their help.”
Along with Patient Advocacy, Plant Operations and the Community Pharmacy, other departments who play a vital part in the event’s success include Volunteer Services, the Bayhealth Foundation, and Marketing and Communications.
The Foundation receives donations throughout the year for the Employee Assistance Fund. You don’t have to wait for the holidays to donate to the fund.
