Located on the Bayhealth Sussex Campus in Milford, we offer a uniquely advanced program that brings together evidence-based surgical expertise, multidisciplinary care and access to reconstructive care — ensuring patients receive the support they need close to home.

Comprehensive Breast Surgical Services for Southern Delaware

Our program offers the full spectrum of breast surgical oncology services, from diagnosis and surgical treatment to high‑risk evaluation and survivorship care. We use leading surgical approaches designed to support healing and provide the best outcomes possible for every patient.

Expanded Expertise in Melanoma Surgical Oncology

In addition to advanced breast cancer services, Bayhealth Breast & Surgical Oncology also provides surgical care for melanoma. Our team is skilled in techniques such as wide local excision, sentinel lymph node biopsy and reconstructive procedures used in the treatment of melanoma and complex skin lesions.

Comprehensive Cancer Care at Bayhealth

As part of the Bayhealth Cancer Institute, patients experience comprehensive, multidisciplinary and personalized cancer care. We partner with our colleagues in Hematology-Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, Pathology and Bayhealth Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, working closely to create treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Following treatment, our nurse navigation team works closely with patients to design a survivorship care plan.

Genetic Counseling for Breast Cancer at Bayhealth Cancer Institute

We also provide genetic counseling services to patients in clinical partnership with Penn Medicine’s Telegenetics Program. Using video-conferencing software that can be accessed at our Kent and Sussex campuses, genetic counselors at the Abramson Cancer Center will discuss your personal and family history with you and make genetic testing recommendations. These tests provide insight into your cancer risks and help our multidisciplinary medical team determine the best treatment plan for your condition.
