Graduate Medical Education Programs Spotlighted at Camden Wyoming Rotary Club Event Hosted by Bayhealth Foundation

Bayhealth is moving one step closer to improving access to care for everyone living in our communities thanks to our robust Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs. As a regional healthcare leader, Bayhealth is the first in the area to launch residency programs. The programs will welcome 21 new doctors as part of the Internal Medicine Residency and Family Medicine Residency programs in July 2021, followed by three doctors as part of the General Surgery Residency program in 2022.

Bayhealth’s Foundation has partnered with the residency program directors to host socially distanced in-person community events to share information about the programs and how they will impact our area.

The Camden Wyoming Rotary Club learned more about the GME program during a recent presentation at the Wild Quail Country Club. General Surgery Program Director Bradford Mitchell, MD, FACS, ECNU, and Internal Medicine Program Director Joseph Deutsch, MD, presented about their programs.

“We truly enjoy sharing more about our Graduate Medical Education programs with community members from across our state. The programs are something to get excited about because they will have a lasting, beneficial impact on generations of Delawareans to come,” said Bayhealth Foundation President Lindsay Rhodenbaugh. “Our team invites any organizations or groups in our community to reach out to us to learn more. We’d welcome the opportunity to share how the programs will directly benefit you.”
To date, nearly $2 million has been raised in support of the GME programs.
