All interview requests or photo shoots must be arranged through Bayhealth Marketing Communications. A Marketing Communications staff member will accompany members of the media at all times while visiting a Bayhealth facility.

Requests involving patients will be considered in coordination with the patient care team. Patient safety is our top priority. Access may be denied at any time if it is determined that media presence will interfere with patient care.

Any patient participation in media requests requires prior written authorization from the patient. We are not able to confirm or arrange any patient participation until we receive written authorization.

Any patient inquiry must include the patient’s name. As long as the patient is listed in our directory and has not requested that information be kept private, we may provide a one-word status update using the following terms.

UNDETERMINED: The patient is awaiting physician evaluation.
GOOD: Vital signs are stable and within normal limits. Patient is conscious and comfortable. Indicators are excellent.
FAIR: Vital signs are stable and within normal limits. Patient is conscious, but may be uncomfortable. Indicators are favorable.
SERIOUS: Vital signs may be unstable and not within normal limits. Patient is acutely ill. Indicators are questionable.
CRITICAL: Vital signs are unstable and not within normal limits. Patient may be unconscious. Indicators are unfavorable.
