Bayhealth welcomes Dr. Sheikh

Bayhealth Primary Care, Smyrna Welcomes New Family Medicine Physician

Bayhealth is pleased to add another board-certified family medicine physician—with roots in Delaware—to its Bayhealth Primary Care, Smyrna team. Jazab Sheikh, MD, joins Family Medicine Physicians Rohin Saroya, MD; Mable Tsui, DO; and Laurianne Haynes, MD, in the practice—part of Bayhealth Medical Group, a partnership of highly trained physicians, their clinical staff, and an administrative support team that operates medical offices throughout central and southern Delaware. Dr. Sheikh is currently welcoming new patients.

Dr. Sheikh grew up in northern Delaware. Prior to joining Bayhealth, he was the medical director of multispecialty clinics at Samaritan Healthcare in Moses Lake, Washington while also provided outpatient primary care services there. He served as Director of Transition of Care and Quality Improvement for Adfinitas Health, where he oversaw post-acute rehabilitative and nursing home services at Brooke Grove Rehabilitation Center in Olney, Maryland. Dr. Sheikh’s experience also includes working as a primary care physician at Mercy Clinic in Imperial, Missouri and providing telemedicine for residents of Maryland, Texas and Virginia through American Well Company.

Dr. Sheikh has a medical degree from Medical University of the Americas, in Nevis, West Indies. He did his family medicine residency through West Virginia University at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, West Virginia. There he served as chief resident and earned multiple Teacher of the Year and Resident of the Year awards.
