Healthcare Equality Index
The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation is the educational arm of the country’s LGBTQ civil rights organization. The HRC Foundation’s Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) is a unique annual survey that encourages equal care for LGBTQ Americans by evaluating inclusive policies and practices related to LGBTQ patients, visitors and employees. Bayhealth meets non-discrimination training criteria that demonstrate its commitment to equitable, inclusive care for LGBTQ patients and their families, who can face significant challenges in securing the quality healthcare and respect they deserve.
Bayhealth is among a select group of healthcare facilities nationwide to be named “Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality.” The staff at Bayhealth is driven to earn this designation every year and continue to work hard to evolve with the dynamic needs of our LGBTQ patients. If you’re a member of the LGBTQ community and your healthcare needs are not being met, we are here for you.
